The Importance of Early Childhood Education

Children’s early years of life, experiences and interaction with particularly parents and teachers form the foundation of all learning, health, behaviour and boundaries that last into adulthood. If you love interacting with children, contributing to their development, or if you wish to have a hand in shaping the future generation, early childhood education will afford you such opportunities, providing meaning and purpose and a fulfilling career.

This field lets you interact with children in creative ways and discover about the specific tools that aid in their learning. There are many topics to be covered through the problem-based style of learning – regulations, health and safety habits, planning and inventing classroom activities and many more.

The VU advantage – Block Model – the new learning and teaching approach
Don’t worry about being unable to catch up with your school work when you have part-time jobs commitment. VU’s block model is a revolutionary approach to learning and teaching. It is the first Australian university to use a Block Model approach, where students study one unit every four weeks with a tutor, rather than the traditional form of university teaching where multiple units are delivered at the same time.

Block Model provides greater choice and flexibility, with multiple enrollment dates to start or continue your studies and the ability to accelerate or study at a suitable pace, thus allowing you to balance your work/life commitments.

Work after graduation
There are 2 options available to students who wish to work in Australia after graduation under a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485): Post-study work and Graduate work.

The Post-Study Work stream provides international student graduates with a 2-, 3- or 4-year visa, depending on the highest educational qualification obtained and the duration of study in Australia.  Holders must maintain adequate arrangements for health insurance during their stay in Australia .

The Graduate Work stream is for international students who have recently graduated with skills and qualifications that are relevant to specific occupations that Australia needs. It lets you live, study and work in Australia temporarily.
